Sam Presti has done a remarkable job accumulating draft capital for the Oklahoma City Thunder in recent years. Altogether, the Thunder now have 18 first-round picks through the 2025-2026 season, including three in the 2021 NBA Draft.

Heading into Thursday night’s event, the Thunder owns the sixth, 16th, and 18th overall selections in the first round. With an endless supply of picks for the future, there’s no way Presti doesn’t make a move on draft night.

Of course, Presti has spoken about taking a patient approach to the Thunder organization’s rebuild.

The last thing that the Thunder want to do is waste away their opportunity to put together a contender by ridding of draft picks in a hurry.

It was rumored that the Thunder tried — and failed — to make a move for the No. 1 overall pick, likely in hopes to select Cade Cunningham. Seeing that Presti is being aggressive ahead of the draft, I’d bet money that the Thunder are active in the trade department on Thursday.
