Chris Paul
Prediction: Doesn’t sign with the Lakers
The Phoenix Suns fell short in the NBA Finals after taking a 2-0 lead over the Milwaukee Bucks, causing some to question the future of Chris Paul.
Paul possesses a player option this offseason and he can choose to use it if he intends to return for at least one more season with the Suns.
On the other hand, he could elect to decline his option in favor of testing free agency. There would be plenty of teams, including the Lakers, who would love to have a chance to bring in the veteran point guard.
However, as much as James would love to play with one of his close friends in Chris Paul, I don’t envision it coming to fruition. Until Paul clearly states that he isn’t returning to Phoenix, I’ll assume that he is going to run it back with the Suns for one more year.

Even if Paul does choose to test the open market, there are other teams that could offer more to the 36-year-old point guard. Chris Paul would be an ideal fit for the Lakers, but I don’t believe a move for him is in the cards for Los Angeles.
