Bad Fit: Golden State Warriors

Dating back to the 2020 NBA Draft, the Golden State Warriors have been rumored as a team that has been interested in Ben Simmons. That being said, I don’t see the appeal of Simmons playing for the Warriors.

Given the current state of his game, Simmons would be best if he’s given a similar role as Draymond Green. Provided that, why would Golden State want two versions of Green on the floor at the same time?

While Green is a prominent defender and is a premier facilitator at his position, his inability to knock down threes consistently slightly holds back the Warriors.

There’s no reason to believe that Golden State would be ecstatic to add another player that would limit their spacing on the floor around Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.
