Good Fit: Portland Trail Blazers
Whenever the idea of Ben Simmons potentially being traded this offseason began, the Portland Trail Blazers were immediately a team mentioned as a possible landing spot.
The 76ers desperately need more shooting and the Trail Blazers have two guards in Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum that could be of interest to them. However, unless other teams get involved or Portland is willing to trade him at a discounted price, Lillard likely isn’t available for Simmons.
That’s fine, because for Simmons to be an ideal fit in Portland, it would be due to him getting a chance to play with Lillard.
If Lillard remains with the Trail Blazers, then he could remain as the primary point guard on the team. In this scenario, Simmons would play more of a traditional forward role, allowing Lillard to continue doing what he does best, which is shoot and score the basketball.

Of course, Portland would love for Simmons to evolve his jump shot if they were to acquire him. But at the least, his defense and ability to create for others would make him a welcomed addition to the Trail Blazers.
