Miami Heat
The Miami Heat were one of the teams that were pursuing Danilo Gallinari last offseason when he was a free agent. However, they were unable to come to an agreement on an extension because Miami wanted to keep their space open for this offseason.
Only a two-year deal with a team option was offered, so a deal could not get finished. The Heat could try again with Gallinari locked in for the 2021-22 season but his 2022-23 season is only partially guaranteed.
Gallinari would fit in perfectly alongside Bam Adebayo in the Heat’s frontcourt. He would be an excellent Plan B should the team not be able to re-sign Duncan Robinson, who is entering restricted free agency and is expected to receive a ton of interest.
Even if Robinson is retained, Gallinari would bring some much-needed scoring to the team’s frontcourt with his 3-point shooting.

Last season, Bam Adebayo and Kelly Olynyk were the only frontcourt players to average double-figure points per game for the Heat. Adding some more scoring there to diversify their offensive attack would make a lot of sense.
