The 2021 NBA Draft is one that fans and organizations are very excited about. This is considered one of the deeper draft classes in recent years, as teams will be able to add some talented players to their roster even into the second round.
Oklahoma State point guard Cade Cunningham is projected to go first overall to the Detroit Pistons, but several players could have been selected first overall this year. Jalen Green from the G League Elite, Evan Mobley out of USC, Jalen Suggs out of Gonzaga and Jonathan Kuminga, also from the G League Elite, all had a case to be the No. 1 pick.
While not in discussion to go first overall, Florida State forward Scotty Barnes is a pretty consensus top-six pick along with those five players.
As with every year, some players will slip through the cracks and slide down draft boards. Teams will be lauded for selecting a prospect considered a steal, which helps set the franchise for success down the road.
