The Lakers could be interested in a young talent like Cam Reddish on the wing and so could their hometown rivals in the Los Angeles Clippers. Kawhi Leonard being out with an ACL injury has thrown a major wrench in the Clippers plans heading into next season and they really do not have cap space nor assets to pull off a big trade.

There have been rumors that Los Angeles could look to target Kemba Walker from the OKC Thunder, but the Clippers really do not have any intriguing assets other than Ivica Zubac and the 25th pick in this year’s draft. They could potentially target Walker, but using their 25th pick to target a guy like Cam Reddish could be highly advantageous to them.

With Leonard out, the Clippers could look to Luke Kennard and Terance Mann to step into larger roles next season, but adding Cam Reddish gives them more depth and more reliable play than keeping the 25th pick and selecting a rookie. The Clippers have not really been known to draft and play rookie talents over the last few years, which is why going after a somewhat experienced, young player on the wing makes sense for them.

Finding affordable guys in free agency that can contribute to a championship contending team will be a difficult task for the Clippers, which is why getting Reddish for a draft pick would be a steal for them. He has two years left on his rookie contract and proved to be a valuable bench player for the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference Finals, which is why he could contribute to the Los Angeles Clippers, who just made it to the Western Conference Finals this past year.

The Clippers are going to have to make some kind of a move this offseason to upgrade the talent on their roster this offseason, which is why trading for Cam Reddish makes sense.

The Clippers already have a salary problem on their roster and they will have to deal with Nic Batum, Reggie Jackson and potentially both Kawhi Leonard and Serge Ibaka opting out of their contracts, so adding Reddish in a trade for the 25th pick could take a lot of stress off of this front-office heading into free agency.
