Damian Lillard is one of the best players in the NBA and would require a large return from any team. He has been linked to the Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks in recent weeks as potential trade destinations.
Portland could end up going with the team that gives them the best return and Houston might be near the top of the list. The No. 2 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft is one of the best assets out there that can be offered.
John Wall would be the veteran replacement taking over at point guard for the Trail Blazers. He was sent to Houston at the beginning of the season from the Washington Wizards. He is under contract for two more seasons and would not be a long-term option.
Portland would also get a plethora of draft capital, including the second-overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. This will be a requirement in order for the Trail Blazers to entertain just about any trade that involves Lillard given the stature of player.
