This is a deep draft so any first-round pick is valuable. The 29th selection in the draft can still land Dallas some intriguing names, such as Charles Bassey or Trey Murphy III. This player would have to come in and produce right away in a bench role.
The Mavericks are looking to do whatever it takes to keep them as a postseason team in a difficult Western Conference. That is why Tim Hardaway Jr. is expected to be a priority heading into the offseason.
Dallas will have their eyes on Hardaway Jr. and attempting to find that impact performer down low. If a deal like this one comes along the way, it could be a quick decision that helps them in the area they need.
