Does this trade make sense for the Philadelphia 76ers?
We all knew that Ben Simmons could not shoot but there was no one to expect the disappearing act that he did in the postseason. Despite some good defense and filling up the stat sheet in other ways, Simmons did not look like the max player that the Philadelphia 76ers needed down the stretch of those games against the Hawks.
Philadelphia is a tough town and it is unlikely that Simmons receives a warm welcome next season. This is why the 76ers need to cut ties and completely build around Joel Embiid.
The center took over as the focal point of the team this season but that could be taken to another level is Simmons is sent away, especially for a point guard like Rozier.
He has the ability to score the ball at the top of the offense. Daryl Morey put shooters in the lineup this season and the improvement was obvious from the opening games. Rozier would solidify that plan and help take the Sixers to the next level.

If Philadelphia wants to continue to compete, they need to do so without. the distraction of Simmons. It is clear that he is not going to improve as a shooter and that will always be a thought in the back of his head and a knock for critics.
