Does this trade make sense for the Atlanta Hawks?
The Atlanta Hawks showed that they are going to progress ahead of schedule. They were not expected to make this kind of run in the postseason but ended up a few games away from the NBA Finals. They have their court in place and now could look to build around them even further.
If Reddish is not part of that plan, it would benefit the Hawks to see what kind of value they could get for him. Atlanta currently hold the 20th pick in the upcoming draft. This puts them in position to land a perimeter threat but could double up if they get another pick somewhere along the line.
That is what this trade would accomplish. The Hawks have other priorities in this offseason, such as signing Collins, but sending away a young talent could get them to return they are looking for.
There will be a need for the Hawks to pay big money to Trae Young and De’Andre Hunter in the near future. Atlanta already has veteran players like Clint Capela, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and Danilo Gallinari earning substantial salaries.

The Hawks were aggressive last offseason so it is likely that they keep that same spirit this year, especially after seeing some success. It will be interesting to see which direction the front office.
