Atlanta Hawks Receive: Aleksej Pokusevski, No. 16 pick
Cam Reddish is the young player that could develop further with the Oklahoma City Thunder. He has shown flashes in Atlanta but would thrive in an extended role in Oklahoma City. This is where he can show off more of his scoring ability from all over the floor.
In return, the Hawks would land Aleksej Pokusevski and the 16th pick in the upcoming draft. The Hawks already pick 20th and could add another one in order to land another prospect that could help immediately.
The Hawks would mitigate the need to worry about handing out a sizeable contract extension to Reddish while receiving an a player in Pokusevski that has intriguing upside, but likely will not have a massive deal ever thrown his way.
The Thunder would basically be upgrading their prospects they choose to develop by attaching extra draft assets in an NBA trade scenario whenever an intriguing option develops. Whether it’s Cam Reddish or a player like Mo Bamba or Marvin Bagley III, there will be many opportunities to do this throughout the rebuilding process.

There is no need for the Thunder to be making three selections in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft. Packaging a first-round pick with Pokusevski to land a more intriguing prospect on the wing in the form of Reddish would be a wise consolidation play.
