3 ideal trade scenarios for Golden State Warriors this offseason

The Golden State Warriors are well-positioned to make a splash during the 2021 NBA offseason. While they do not have cap space, which is how a team would normally swiftly upgrade their roster, they have plenty of attractive trade chips that would get the job done.

Golden State has young center James Wiseman, whom they selected No. 2 overall in 2020, which can be the centerpiece of a deal. Their two lottery picks in this year’s draft, No. 7 and 14 overall, could be used to make quite an enticing base of a package with Wiseman.

26-year old Andrew Wiggins has a contract that could be used to help match salaries up to consummate a deal as well. Kelly Oubre Jr., who is widely expected to leave in free agency, could be used in a sign-and-trade deal to help net the Warriors some more assets as well.

Golden State’s window of contention is slowly beginning to close as Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are all at least 31-years old. So, you can be sure the front office will do whatever they can to make another run at a championship.
