Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors are actively shopping for a veteran to add to their existing core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green to make another run at the NBA title. They have some great assets in James Wiseman, the No. 7 and No. 14 overall picks in the 2021 NBA Draft to make it happen.

If they are unable to land a veteran to help the team, moving up to land a player such as Scottie Barnes would be a good alternative plan to put into action.

Barnes’ strengths would be highlighted with Golden State and he should be able to handle a role immediately with the team. His defensive versatility and playmaking would play well with the Warriors from Day 1, providing production similar to what Andre Iguodala did during their dynasty as a glue guy.

Barnes could be a long-term answer for the Warriors when Green inevitably moves on as well.

With how the Warriors’ roster is currently constructed, they can compensate for the things Barnes needs to improve in, such as scoring and rebounding, while allowing him to do the things he does best to help the team win some basketball games.
