The 2020-21 season officially ended this week, as the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Phoenix Suns in six games to win the NBA Finals. On July 29th, the offseason will officially get underway as the 2021 NBA Draft will take place that night.
With the 2021 NBA Draft quickly approaching, there are plenty of rumors about which teams want which prospects. With so many teams looking to make deals during the draft, things could get hectic when it comes to players moving teams and draft picks changing hands.
One player to keep an eye on near the top of the draft is Florida State forward, Scottie Barnes. Barnes is rising fast up draft boards after a strong showing at the NBA Combine.
Barnes stands 6’8” with a monstrous 7’2 ¾ wingspan. Once he settles into his frame, Barnes will likely be a power forward, but he is athletic enough to handle the small forward position as well.

The Florida State product is raw offensively, he is aggressive in the paint and plays well above the rim. He also has the look of what will be elite playmaking with above-average court vision and passing skills. While it will take some time for him to reach his full potential offensively, he will be ready to contribute to a team from Day 1 because of his defense.
If Barnes’ offense comes along, he will be a legitimate two-way player and difference-maker on both ends of the court. Plenty of teams could use a talent like Scottie Barnes. Here are three teams that should trade up for the Florida State product.
