Who are the true up-and-coming teams around the NBA? The Chicago Bulls have to be at least mentioned in some capacity. This is a franchise that has made some changes in leadership and has the star power in place ready to compete. Now, it is time to add that weapon at the point-guard position.
The point guard has turned into the most important position in the game. The NBA thrives on the three-point shot and a point guard who can shoot and set up his teammates well is extremely beneficial. Chicago currently lacks that playmaker at the top but are set up well in other areas.
Zach LaVine continues to be one of the best scorers in the league while Lauri Markkanen is a force when healthy. At the trade deadline, the Bulls decided to hold onto their big names and even add another. They acquired Nikola Vucevic from the Orlando Magic and this solidified their frontcourt.
While Chicago is looking to win, there are rebuilding teams still trying to put a plan into action. That is the Oklahoma City Thunder. Sam Presti has built up a plethora of draft capital over the next half decade and that will begin this year. Oklahoma City currently holds three first-round picks in the 2021 NBA Draft, including the sixth-overall selection.
