New York Knicks
The New York Knicks are desperate for a point guard upgrade this offseason. Should Chris Paul hit free agency, they will undoubtedly be placing some calls and aggressively pursuing him.
Paul and Knicks’ president, Leon Rose, go way back. Rose was a high-profile agent before taking over the Knicks’ front office and Paul was one of his clients. He helped negotiate multiple contracts and trades for Paul while representing him. That relationship should at least get the Knicks in the door.
On the court, Paul would be able to provide a similar impact as he did with his previous stops. Every team that Paul joins gets better in his first season. Joining a team coming off of a fourth-place finish in the Eastern Conference could push the Knicks into true contender status.
Paul is one of the best to ever do it at the point guard position and would be a monstrous upgrade for the Knicks. He’d fit in well defensively at the point of attack and his playmaking would help raise the performance of everyone around him. Watching him get RJ Barrett and Julius Randle into their spots to score would be a lot of fun.

Financially, the Knicks can also afford him. They have a ton of cap space and can sign him to a three-year max deal. Familiarity, a max deal and the possibility to help one of the NBA’s marquee franchises in officially turning things around would be a nice cherry on top of Paul’s career.
