Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers would be a great landing spot for Chris Paul should he leave the Phoenix Suns. For starters, the team is in the market for a point guard with Dennis Schroder hitting free agency.

Paul would give the Lakers a third scoring option behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis they have yet to consistently find. His playmaking would take some pressure off of James’ shoulders as well as the main, and sometimes only, facilitator on the court.

The former Wake Forest product would also bring some much-needed shooting to the team. Paul is a 37.1 percent shooter from long range in his career, knocking down 39.5 percent this season.

His friendship with James is also a driving factor in the Lakers landing on this list. James was courtside for some NBA Finals games and there have always been talks about the Banana Boat group teaming up in the NBA.

James and Dwyane Wade are the only two that have teamed up so far, but there are rumors the Lakers are interested in signing Carmelo Anthony this offseason. The three remaining Banana Boat crew members teaming up on the Lakers could be too much for Paul to pass up at this stage in his career.

Money will be the biggest deterrent in the Lakers landing Paul. Unless Phoenix will work out a sign-and-trade, all the Lakers can offer him are exceptions worth just over $9 million.
