Damian Lillard
The Portland Trail Blazers are dealing with a media storm centered on their star point guard, Damian Lillard. While Lillard has not requested a trade and has denied the rumors that he will soon, the Trail Blazers still have to be prepared for it to happen.
If the former Weber State product does indeed want out of Portland, the Heat are one team that will certainly be interested in acquiring him. He would provide a lot of what Miami is missing.
Too often last season the offense would stagnate as the team lacked scoring options that could create for themselves. Butler was tasked with doing that more often than not, so taking some of the scoring pressure off of his shoulders would be good. Damian Lillard would also present the team with excellent playmaking, another thing that would regularly fall on Butler’s shoulders.
The price to acquire Damian Lillard would be steep, however. Miami would have to start with Tyler Herro and Precious Achiuwa as the centerpiece of the deal. Duncan Robinson or Kendrick Nunn could also be involved via sign-and-trade.

What Miami would have to overcome is their lack of first-round draft picks, as they do not have one until 2024 that can be traded away right now.
