Drafting in the lottery seems to be a yearly occurrence for the Sacramento Kings, as this franchise has seen pretty much no success over the years. The Kings have not put together a winning season since the 2005-06 NBA season and that was also the last time they were in the playoffs!
Sacramento has missed the playoffs for 15 consecutive years now, which is tied for the longest playoff drought in NBA history.
With De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton in the backcourt, the Kings have a strong foundation to build with for the future, but there are so many question marks surrounding this roster that it is hard not to imagine that they will miss the playoffs again during the 2021-22 season.
Harrison Barnes, Buddy Hield and Marvin Bagley III all find themselves a part of trade rumors this offseason and the pending free agency of Richaun Holmes looms large over this franchise. This franchise has been a disaster over the last decade and a half and until they prove that they can sustain success by keeping their young talents together, then the Kings will continue to be one of the laughing stocks of the league.
