Does this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?
The Indiana Pacers could be moving quickly toward the rebuild. If this is the case, it would be wise of them to send away some players in return for some capital. This is one that they would be getting in this particular trade.
The No. 7 overall pick puts the Pacers in a position to land one of the top prospects in the 2021 NBA Draft in addition to holding the No. 13 pick. Could Indiana move up further and reach the backend of the top five? That is certainly something to consider.
The possibilities are endless in a draft class as deep as this one. Andrew Wiggins would become a focal point of the office along with Caris LeVert. Indiana has to figure out how to reach all the roster in hopes of returning to the postseason think they have been.
The Pacers would move Domantas Sabonis to the five spot in the starting lineup and would be able to use the No. 7 selection in the 2021 NBA Draft on a wing player. That’s not a bad option in order to resolve a positional logjam and trade an expiring contract.
