Does this trade make sense for the Los Angeles Lakers?

I’m torn on whether or not a move for Russell Westbrook would make sense for the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason. On one hand, Los Angeles does fill the void at their vacant point guard spot and they would have a lethal All-Star trio in Russell Westbrook, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis. But on the other hand, are the Lakers willing to sacrifice shooting for someone that can fix the team’s woes when James isn’t on the floor?

LeBron James-led teams have typically had success when he’s surrounded by shooters and the Lakers need more three-point marksman added to the roster this summer.

Maybe they could trade for Westbrook and sign veteran three-point shooters that are willing to sign for cheap in hopes to compete for a title. It would undoubtedly be exciting to watch Westbrook, James, and Davis take the court together at the Staples Center.

Even though Westbrook’s shooting isn’t where the Lakers would want it to be, his tenacity and ability to create for others could be enough to push a trade through.

What makes this trade make sense for Los Angeles is the fact they aren’t giving up too much to acquire an All-Star caliber player.
