Does this trade make sense for the Washington Wizards?
If the Washington Wizards have already moved on from Bradley Beal or if he requests a trade, then parting ways with Russell Westbrook makes sense for both sides. There’s no reason for them to hold Westbrook captive if he wants to compete for a title for the remainder of his career.
So in the hypothetical scenario of Beal being gone, yes, this trade makes sense for Washington. Though, there’s a chance that they could get more for Westbrook, especially after he posted his fourth season of averaging a triple-double.
Of course, the Lakers would need Schroder to give the green light on going to the Wizards for this potential trade to even be possible.
Let’s assume Schroder does approve the sign-and-trade due to getting the contract he desires, which would give Washington three players who are under contract for at least two years.

Kuzma signed a three-year extension with the Lakers last offseason and he could potentially evolve into a better player with more minutes elsewhere. Caldwell-Pope would give Washington a versatile wing player that can fill multiple needs on the roster.
