Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G Russell Westbrook
Wizards Receive: G Dennis Schroder (via sign-and-trade), G Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, F Kyle Kuzma, 2021 first-round pick (No. 22 overall)
It should be noted that the Los Angeles Lakers don’t have much to offer any teams in possible trades this offseason. That’s why they would need to rely on a sign-and-trade scenario or be willing to take on a player who has a salary that other teams may not want. In this NBA trade scenario, they do both.
The Lakers only have 10 total draft picks from now through the 2028 season, and they only have four players officially under contract outside of LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Provided that, for the Lakers to pull off a trade for Russell Westbrook, they’d need to convince Schroder to be part of a sign-and-trade scenario. Washington could be more enticed to accept Schroder in a trade if Beal is on his way out of the nation’s capital.
Schroder would replace Westbrook at the point guard position, giving them a solid floor general moving forward.

The veteran point guard registered 15.4 points, 5.8 assists, and 1.1 steals per game on an inefficient 33.5 percent from deep this season. Besides Schroder, the Wizards would get Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Kyle Kuzma, and the No. 22 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
