A lot of the chatter surrounding the Philadelphia 76ers thus far has been about the future of Ben Simmons. The team has begun having trade talks centered around him, and the Sacramento Kings are one team that has supposedly shown interest. If there is any truth that Buddy Hield could be someone they target in a return package.

Hield’s perimeter shooting is something that could play well in Philadelphia to help space the floor for all-world center Joel Embiid to go to work. His scoring punch would be beneficial whether it is in the 76ers’ starting five or coming off the bench.

The 76ers could also have a major hole to fill in their rotation at shooting guard. Veteran Danny Green is entering free agency this summer and should draw plenty of interest around the league. If they are unable to retain him, Hield is a logical option to replace him.

While not as highly regarded as a defender, Hield does have the size and athleticism to defend three different positions, similarly to Green. This should be of at least some intrigue to the 76ers.

However, Hield is just as prolific of a 3-point shooter as Green, on more volume, and would offer a more diverse skill set to help the 76ers when things bog down in the halfcourt.
