The San Antonio Spurs lost in the NBA Play-In Tournament, resulting in the team missing the postseason for the second straight year. This is the first time in franchise history that the Spurs have missed the playoffs in consecutive seasons and it is a streak they would like to snap as soon as next season.
San Antonio has some intriguing young players on the roster that should help lead the team back to the postseason sooner than later.
Keldon Johnson is getting Team USA experience, Devin Vassell has upside after being selected in 2020. Dejounte Murray, Lonnie Walker IV and Derrick White are also players the organization likes.
But, the team is currently at a crossroads. They have to figure out what direction they want to take, either building up the roster around this current core or entering a rebuild. That could be determined by what kind of offers they get for two of their young guards.
