New Orleans Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans are another team that could be looking to move out of the top-10 to land a player that will help them return to the playoffs. This could present a real opportunity for the New York Knicks
Moving up to the No. 10 spot would put the Knicks in a position to address two of their biggest needs this offseason; a point guard and perimeter shooting. Baylor point guard Davion Mitchell is projected to still be on the board when the 10th pick comes on the clock, as is Arkansas sharpshooter Moses Moody.
Mitchell is a perfect point guard for Tom Thibodeau to mold. He is an excellent defender, an efficient shooter from the field and a strong playmaker. Adding some scoring punch to the backcourt would be smart for the Knicks to open up their offense and take some pressure off of RJ Barrett and Julius Randle.
Moody is one of the best-projected shooters in the 2021 NBA Draft class, something the Knicks could use, especially if Reggie Bullock departs in free agency. Thibodeau would also continue Moody’s development as a defender, as his 6’6” frame and nearly 7’1” wingspan could translate to a difference-maker on that end of the court.

While adding more draft picks to their ledger probably isn’t in the Pelicans’ plans, it would give them more ammunition to trade for veteran players to fill the roster out alongside Zion Williamson or to sweeten a package involving Eric Bledsoe’s contract.
