This offseason, the Houston Rockets will be looking to expand on their rebuilding process not just by adding more young talents to their roster through the NBA Draft, but by leveraging some of their veteran players as well. Trading John Wall will be tough for the Rockets to do since he is owed $91.6M over the next two seasons, but guys like D.J. Augustin, Avery Bradley (team option) and Eric Gordon could very well be on the move.
Eric Gordon is an intriguing name to talk about in regards to offseason trade rumors around the NBA because everywhere he has played over the course of his 13-year NBA career, he has found success and carved out a role for himself.
He has not only averaged double-figure scoring every season of his career, but he has averaged 16.6 points and has shot 36.8% from three-point range over the course of his career, making Eric Gordon a valuable trade asset for various playoff contending teams.
While they missed the playoffs this year, the Indiana Pacers are a team that will be looking to add some more talent to their team and could be interested in adding a two-way shooting guard like Gordon to their roster.

Assuming they will be fully healthy for the 2021-22 season, the Pacers will be rolling out a starting unit of Malcolm Brogdon, Caris LeVert, T.J. Warren, Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner, which makes up one of the better starting fives in the league.
The only problem with the Pacers roster right now is that they have a lot of holes to fill in their second-unit. Their two best bench players in T.J. McConnell and Doug McDermott are unrestricted free agents this offseason and Indiana ranked middle-of-the-pack in the league in terms of bench scoring over the course of the 2020-21 season, so they could use another productive scorer.
The Rockets want to trade Gordon, that’s no secret and has spread in rumors around the NBA. Meanwhile, the Pacers need more weapons to utilize, so this seems like a perfect match for both teams. Let’s take a look at a potential NBA trade scenario between the Houston Rockets and Indiana Pacers involving Eric Gordon.
