For the first-time in their 54-year history as an NBA franchise, the San Antonio Spurs have missed the playoffs for back-to-back seasons. Change may finally be coming to one of the league’s most successful organizations, as the Spurs have a lot of decisions to make this offseason.

DeMar DeRozan, Rudy Gay and Patty Mills are all unrestricted free agents for San Antonio this offseason and all of their futures with the Spurs are in question.

The futures of some of the Spurs’ young talents are also in question right now as well as the Spurs seem to be a team that could be looking to make some trades in the offseason.

Both Derrick White and Dejounte Murray “could both be gettable” in trades this offseason according to The Athletic’s Zach Harper. If both of these young guards are indeed available in trade talks, then one team who could be interested in trading for Murray is the New York Knicks.

The Knicks made the playoffs for the first-time since 2013 this year, but they are in desperate need of a point guard. Since being drafted 29th overall in 2016, Dejounte Murray has continued to improve as a primary focal point for the Spurs and this past season, he averaged 15.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.5 steals and shot 45.3% from the floor.

Being a two-way threat makes Murray a very attractive point guard option for the New York Knicks, which is why they could be interested in striking a deal for the 24-year-old guard. Could the San Antonio Spurs actually trade Dejounte Murray this offseason?
