The Miami Heat made a miraculous journey to the NBA Finals in 2020 in the NBA Bubble, but the 2020-21 season was not a season they were proud of. Miami finished 40-32, avoiding the play-in tournament in the Eastern Conference by a few games, but they got swept in the first-round of the playoffs by the Milwaukee Bucks.

A season that was full of injuries and different rotations due to health protocols, the Heat were just never able to find any consistency with their 2020-21 squad, which is why change is on the horizon for the Miami Heat.

Entering the offseason, Miami is projected to be over the salary cap, but there are a lot of options for them this summer. Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo are really the only two players that are “untouchable” on their roster, but the Heat are open to anything and everything this offseason if it betters their chances of winning another championship.

Falling two games short of winning another ring in 2020 did not sit well with team president Pat Riley, which is why he will be very aggressive in his search of adding more talent in the offseason.

With Goran Dragic and Andre Iguodala having multi-million dollar team options for the 2020-21 season, Miami has the ability to free up a ton of cap space should they choose to possibly go after another All-Star caliber talent in the offseason.

Ever since their “Big 3” disbanded in 2014, the Heat have been trying to find ways to add more All-Star talents to their roster and they have two of them in Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo now. Finding that third key talent is a must for them this offseason, which is why the Miami Heat are a very intriguing team to keep an eye on this offseason.

With this said, let’s dive right in and take a look at the latest intel coming out of Miami in regards to player contracts, possible free agent/trade targets, as well as if they will hold onto some of their young, talented players.
