Does this trade make sense for the Washington Wizards?
On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Washington Wizards would be doing a disservice by accepting this trade. Moving on from Bradley Beal would already be a large enough setback for Washington. But to part ways with him for Kristaps Porzingis, Jalen Brunson, Josh Green, and a couple of first-round picks would be less-than-ideal.
Porzingis is likely on his way out of Dallas already and Green is still a developing player on the offensive end of the floor. Not to mention, Porzingis’s contract would be tough to move if he doesn’t pan out.
A duo of Russell Westbrook and Kristaps Porzingis wouldn’t be the worst, but there’s no guarantee that Russell Westbrook doesn’t force his way out if Bradley Beal is gone.
While Brunson is an enticing piece, he’s not enough to make doing a trade for Beal for. Brunson is also due for an extension in 2022, which would force the Wizards to make a crucial decision on his future after just one year with the team.

In the event that Beal wants out of Washington, there would be a ton of teams willing to mortgage large packages for the All-Star shooting guard. It’s safe to say that the Wizards could get much more than Porzingis, Brunson, Green, and a pair of future first-round picks for Beal.
