The Chicago Bulls made the biggest splash of the 2021 NBA Trade Deadline when they pried All-Star Nikola Vucevic away from the Orlando Magic. The Bulls had their own All-Star in Zach LaVine already in place, so they now have a solid foundation going forward to build upon.

Chicago was unable to make a push for the postseason in 2021, as they finished two games behind the Charlotte Hornets for the final spot in the NBA Play-In Tournament. Despite that, they are in a position to fight for a playoff spot next season.

The roster has some intriguing young talent, headlined by Coby White and Patrick Williams. Lauri Markkanen is entering restricted free agency, which is the first of many difficult decisions the organization will have to make this offseason. But a trade for a player such as Ben Simmons would take this roster to the next level.

The Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly engaging teams around the league in trade talks for their All-Star point guard, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

“The 76ers have opened up trade conversations surrounding Simmons and have engaged with teams, sources told The Athletic. Those sources also say that teams that have engaged with the 76ers about Simmons have been met with a high price threshold for the three-time All-Star.”

This is a bit surprising after the team said he would not be moved just a few weeks ago. But, if he is truly being shopped, the Bulls need to get in on the trade talks.

Here are three reasons the Chicago Bulls should aggressively pursue a trade for Ben Simmons.
