It was an earlier exit than expected for both of these teams from the postseason. The Boston Celtics were eliminated in the first round while the Denver Nuggets were a second-round exit. This NBA offseason, two teams expected to be near the top of their conference will look to make some changes.

It begins with the Celtics. It was a year full of injuries and inconsistent play coming out of Boston. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown were able to put a strong seasons on the offensive end but the team did not show much else.

They have already traded Kemba Walker to the Oklahoma City Thunder. This is a move that was on the horizon for quite some time. Now, new president of basketball operations Brad Stevens will have to continue to reshape the lineup.

Stevens could look to a team like the Nuggets for a trade. Denver was aggressive at the trade deadline when they added Aaron Gordon for the second half of the season. This allowed them to make a run and get as high as the third seed in the Western Conference.

The Nuggets were eliminated by the Phoenix Suns in the second round and will be determined to get back to the Western Conference Finals right away. Especially when considering the team has the reigning MVP in Nikola Jokic leading the way.

When looking at a deal such as this one, it is not a blockbuster that both sides might be interested in. With that being said, it is still a productive deal and one that could help right away.
