Memphis Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies made a surprise run to the postseason in 2021, going 38-34 and earning a spot in the NBA Play-In Tournament. After defeating the San Antonio Spurs in the first game, they defeated the Golden State Warriors in the second to earn the eighth seed in the Western Conference.

They were defeated by the Utah Jazz in five games in the first round, but the foundation for the Grizzlies is built. Now, it is time to build upon that foundation and Hardaway Jr. would present a great opportunity to do so.

The Grizzlies are a stingy defensive team, but they could use some help offensively. They struggled to keep up from the 3-point line, as they were 24th in 3-point makes per game (11.2) and 20th in 3-point percentage (35.6 percent). Hardaway Jr. would help improve both of those numbers.

Hardaway Jr. could slide right into the Grizzlies’ starting lineup alongside budding star Ja Morant in the backcourt, giving the unit a much-needed offensive boost.

Tim Hardaway Jr.’s presence as a 3-point shooter would help open things up in the middle for Morant to attack and Jonas Valanciunas to operate.
