Ranking top 4 options for Raptors with No. 4 pick in 2021 NBA Draft

Toronto Raptors, 2021 NBA Draft
NBA Analysis Network

Since the 2013-14 season, the Toronto Raptors have been one of the most successful NBA franchises, but this past year was definitely one to forget. Not only did the Raptors have to relocate to Tampa Bay for the season due to pandemic restrictions in Canada, but they dealt with a lot of guys on the injury report every single week.

In fact, none of the players on their roster during the 2020-21 season played in all 72 games and Stanley Johnson was the guy who played in the most games for Toronto with 61 total games. With Lowry, VanVleet, Siakam and others all dealing with injuries on and off throughout the year, this season was a lost-cause for the Toronto Raptors and they will be figuring out what to do this offseason.

With Kyle Lowry set to become a free agent, as well as Gary Trent Jr. being a restricted free agent, the Raptors have a lot of big decisions to make as a franchise. There have also been some trade rumors about both VanVleet and Siakam as well and their availability league-wide.

Whether or not the Raptors will tear everything down and start from scratch remains a big question of the offseason, but there are ways for them to remain a true championship threat in the Eastern Conference. Even if they let Lowry go in free agency, Toronto still has both VanVleet and Siakam as high-level, borderline All-Star players to build with.

Not to mention, both OG Anunoby and Chris Boucher are also two relatively young players with a bright future on this team. Toronto has a lot of talent already on their roster, but finding ways to add more talent could be difficult for them given their cap situation. This is why their 4th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft is so important.

The Raptors could potentially look to trade this pick for an established player to help them compete for more championships, but they were lucky enough during the Draft Lottery to jump inside the Top-4, which is why they would be wise to keep this pick and take one of the best talents in this draft class.

Who could Toronto look to target though? Let’s take a look at the Raptors’ Top-4 options with the No. 4 pick in this year’s NBA Draft.
