Mitchell Robinson is traded

As I mentioned above, the New York Knicks are faced with the tough decision on what they want to do with Robinson. When he’s healthy and in the lineup, he’s a key contributor on the team due to his rim protection and ability to do damage in the paint.

However, injuries have been an underlying issue for Robinson as he’s failed to play an entire season yet in his career. He’s also fallen short of starting in more than 29 games in each of his first three seasons.

Once again, New York can pick up his team option and elect to pay him $1.8 million next season. While he wouldn’t be an expensive player to retain, he could be a prime trade piece for a star player this summer.

The Knicks don’t have many players under contract, so Robinson could be included in trades to sweeten the deal for a team.

There’s a chance that Robinson can achieve his potential in New York, but if they can get a star player in a deal that involves Robinson, New York won’t hesitate to pull the trigger.
