This Mavericks-Wizards blockbuster trade pairs Bradley Beal with Luka Doncic

Dallas Mavericks, Bradley Beal, Washington Wizards, NBA Trade Rumors

The last time the Dallas Mavericks advanced past the first-round of the NBA playoffs, they went on to win a title. Since winning their only championship in 2011, the Mavericks have been searching for ways to find postseason success, yet they have come up empty each and every year.

For the last two seasons, the Mavericks have lost to the Los Angeles Clippers in the first-round of the playoffs, but with Luka Doncic running the show now, this organization is destined to contend for many years to come. This was a very weird season for the Mavericks because while they finished 42-30, they really did not seem like that strong of a team.

Luka Doncic obviously stands out as one of the best basketball players in the entire world, but they really need to surround him with better overall talents. Kristaps Porzingis has not turned out to be the second All-Star talent he once was thought to be next to Doncic and while Tim Hardaway Jr. emerged in the postseason as a key contributor, he too is not a second-leading scorer type of player on a championship-caliber team.

Owner Mark Cuban is never afraid of spending money to go after the best of the best, which is why Dallas is a very intriguing team to watch this offseason. With a new GM in long-time Nike executive Nico Harrison and a new head coach in Hall-of-Famer Jason Kidd, a new era of Mavericks basketball has begun and Luka Doncic is at the center of it all.

Finding more high-level talents to surround Doncic with is the main goal the Mavs are tasked with, which is why they may go “all-in” on the idea of trading for Bradley Beal. The Wizards’ guard has been one of the best offensive talents in the league over the last few seasons and is constantly getting better, which is why he is a perfect fit next to Doncic.

However, acquiring him will not be easy. Washington paired Russell Westbrok with Bradley Beal prior to the 2020-21 season and both the Wizards and Beal have said numerous times that they intend to remain loyal to one another, but can Dallas change that?

In a recent article by Bleacher Report’s Grant Hughes, he talks about Dallas possibly being a team that trades for Beal this offseason. Let’s take a look at what this trade package could shape up to look like and if it would even be good enough to convince the Wizards to trade their best player.
