After making it to the NBA Finals for five consecutive years, resulting in three titles, the Golden State Warriors have not only missed out on going to the NBA Finals the last two years, but they have failed to make the playoffs the last two seasons!
A lot of the Warriors’ misfortune has been because of key injuries, particularly to Klay Thompson, but just looking at this year alone, nobody on their roster played in every single game. Andrew Wiggins was the closest to playing in all 72 games during the 2020-21 season, as he played in 71 games.
Golden State has some big decisions to make this offseason because while they definitely have the talent to compete for another championship, their championship window may be closing. So many teams are on the rise in the Western Conference and Steph, Klay and Draymond are not getting any younger!
Bob Myers and the entire Warriors’ front-office will be very busy this offseason looking for ways to upgrade their talent and potentially add another star player to their roster, which is why they could pull the trigger and become the front-runners to land Damian Lillard in what would be one of the biggest trades in NBA history.
