Derrick Rose has had a tumultuous career given all of the injuries he has endured, but he looked back to his old self during his second stint with the New York Knicks. What could the former Chicago Bulls superstar look to do during the offseason when he hits NBA free agency?

The Knicks acquired Rose this past season from the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Dennis Smith Jr. and a 2021 second-round pick. His first stint in the Big Apple didn’t go well, but this time around, things couldn’t have worked out much better.

Rose looked rejuvenated, motivated and happy to be playing for his old Chicago Bulls coach, Tom Thibodeau. He was an instrumental part of the Knicks’ success in the regular season, playing in 35 games and starting three of them.

Rose averaged 14.9 points on 48.7 percent from the field, 41.1 percent from the 3-point line and 88.3 percent from the foul line. He also chipped in 4.2 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 26.8 minutes per game and the Knicks went 24-11 in the games he played.

The Chicago native took his game to another level in the postseason, averaging 19.4 points on 47.6 percent from the field, 47.1 percent from the 3-point line and a perfect 100 percent at the foul line. He also had 5.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds in 35 minutes per game as he was the best Knick in their first-round loss to the Atlanta Hawks.

With there being a clear path back to Chicago, will this be when Rose makes his return? Here are three reasons the Bulls should pursue a reunion with Rose.
