Does this trade make sense for the Detroit Pistons?
The Detroit Pistons are in full-rebuild mode and it was taken to the next level this season. They were able to send away some veterans and have rookies step up.
Saddiq Bey was named first team All-Rookie while Isaiah Stewart was named to the second team. The future might be bright in Detroit but Grant is not part of the plan.
Jerami Grant signed a three-year deal with the Pistons and it is obvious that it will take them longer to build. Along with their young guns, the Pistons will have a chance to land Cade Cunningham with the top pick in the draft.
This will help take that rebuild to the next level even further. In this trade, they would add a second pick in the first round and a chance to land another prospect to the mix. Onyeka Okongwu could have a high ceiling in the league and this is another piece moving toward the future.

Grant put up a strong individual season but it is clear that the Pistons are not ready to compete. It would benefit them more right away to send Grant away for a big return.
