Brooklyn Nets Receive: C Montrezl Harrell (opts-in)

Los Angeles Lakers Receive: C DeAndre Jordan and No. 27 pick

This is not a blockbuster trade that might be thought about between these two sides but it would impact both frontcourts. We mentioned the Lakers being aggressive and this is not exactly like the moves of the past.

In this particular NBA trade scenario, the Lakers would send Montrezl Harrell to the Nets as the centerpiece of the deal. In return, the Nets would send DeAndre Jordan and their first-round pick in this year’s draft to Los Angeles.

Jordan signed a free-agent deal with Brooklyn shortly after Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant were brought over. The Lakers would have two picks in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft if this deal is made.

It’s important to note that Harrell would need to exercise his final-year player-option in order for this NBA trade scenario to be able to occur. It would be a decision that makes the most sense on the surface given he would earn $9.7 million and would be unlikely to command that in NBA free agency.

Neither Montrezl Harrell nor DeAndre Jordan have managed to find a way to contribute for their respective teams. Both big men could be in need of a change of scenery to see if they can gain momentum alongside different skill-sets.

Let’s take a closer look and see how this NBA trade scenario would impact both the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers.
