The New York Knicks look like one of the up-and-coming teams in the NBA. After being the laughing stock of the league for the better part of two decades, the team looks to finally be on the path to relevancy.
Tom Thibodeau took over as head coach this season and led the team to a record of 41-31. They finished fourth place in the Eastern Conference, earning home-court advantage. It ended up not helping them, as they lost Game 1 to the Atlanta Hawks and eventually the series in five games.
Despite how disappointing of an outcome that was, what the Knicks accomplished this season was very encouraging. Now, it is time to upgrade the roster so that they stay there.
Point guard remains a need for the Knicks, as it has for basically the entire century. They have been linked to Portland Trail Blazers All-Star Damian Lillard, but there could be a more cost-effective option available on the trade market in Dallas Mavericks point guard, Jalen Brunson.
