The offseason for the Boston Celtics got started much earlier than they had hoped. After defeating the Washington Wizards in the play-in game for the seventh seed, they were bounced out of the NBA playoffs in five games by the Brooklyn Nets.
Shortly after that, Boston made a flurry of decisions.
Head coach Brad Stevens stepped down and took over the front office as Danny Ainge stepped down. Replacing Stevens on the bench is Ime Udoka, a highly regarded assistant coach who moved up the ranks and has earned a head coach job.
Stevens wasted little time in making moves, as just over two weeks on the job he traded Kemba Walker and a 2021 first-round pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Al Horford, Moses Brown and a future second-round pick.
