Does this trade make sense for the Philadelphia 76ers?
This could potentially be the best return that is offered to the Philadelphia 76ers for Ben Simmons. He still has a ton of money on his contract and is beginning to show signs of being overpaid. If healthy, Gordon Hayward would be a great benefit along with the No. 11 pick in the upcoming 2021 NBA Draft.
Philadelphia has put some shooters around Embiid. They added Seth Curry and Danny Green last offseason and that proved to be productive moves right away. Curry continued to improve throughout the season and was a huge factor in the postseason. That will continue moving forward.
The duo on the wing between Tobias Harris along with Hayward is something to get excited about. There would be no shortage of perimeter shooting and ability to put the ball on the floor to make something happen.
At No. 11 in the 2021 NBA Draft, there are plenty of options for the 76ers to choose from. Being able to add a team controlled prospect with that pick will be helpful in continuing to build a sustainable overall rotation as the team has to give contract extensions to young players.

The main benefit in this trade would be moving on from Ben Simmons. He could have played his final game as a member of the 76ers and if he has, it was a terrible way to go out.
