Philadelphia 76ers Receive: F Gordon Hayward and No. 11 pick

In this NBA trade scenario, Ben Simmons would join the loaded perimeter of the Charlotte Hornets but would be able to take on a different role. This is something that could benefit him in the long run.

The Hornets would need a plan for Simmons moving forward. He would likely slot in as a small ball four or a three in Charlotte’s lineup in this particular scenario. Well, the team also has the choice to experimenting with having him slot in as a five given he’s 6-foot-11 and would be able to switch everything.

Gordon Hayward and the No. 11 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft will be going back to the 76ers in this NBA trade scenario. This would allow them to land one of the top prospects in the 2021 NBA Draft and continue to build around Joel Embiid.

Hayward is another veteran who could help Philadelphia take that next step, if he can manage to stay healthy. There would be a massive improvement in the team’s perimeter shooting capabilities by swapping out Ben Simmons in favor of Hayward, to say the least.

There is little reason to keep running it back over and over from the 76ers’ perspective when Embiid has already emerged as a legitimate MVP candidate. The choice is clear. Build around him by finding a better fitting complement than Ben Simmons, which Gordon Hayward certainly would be.

Let’s take a closer look and see how this NBA trade scenario centered around Ben Simmons would benefit both the Charlotte Hornets and Philadelphia 76ers.
