Boston Celtics
Following the trade of Kemba Walker, the Boston Celtics are in need of finding a new point guard for next season. Finding a point guard that fits alongside Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown has been a hassle for the Celtics thus far.
Neither Walker or Kyrie Irving panned out due to both of them excelling with the ball in their hands. However, Fred VanVleet has shown that he doesn’t need the ball often to be effective.
A trade for VanVleet would likely need to include Marcus Smart and other pieces. Though, it should be noted that Ime Udoka — the new head coach of the Celtics — spoke about Smart as a key contributor for Boston moving forward.
The goal for the Celtics must be to have enough offensive firepower in the fold in order to keep up with the elite teams in the Eastern Conference. Adding VanVleet woudl help.

Things could be subject to change when it comes to Smart, especially if the Celtics discover they can get VanVleet in a move with the Raptors.
