New Orleans Pelicans: Damian Lillard
There is turmoil taking place in Portland, which could cause Lillard to force his way out this offseason. The Trail Blazers were eliminated in the first round for the fifth time in seven years, prompting the organization to make a change at head coach.
Chauncey Billups is replacing Terry Stotts and there’s a decent chance we see the team move CJ McCollum, regardless of Lillard’s status with the team. One team that could make an enticing trade package for Lillard is the New Orleans Pelicans.
Besides the 10th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, the Pelicans have a player like Ingram, and plenty of future first-round picks to offer the Trail Blazers. After failing to deliver a title to Portland, Lillard could view Zion Williamson as the perfect running mate that could help him achieve his goal of securing a championship.
Charlotte Hornets: Zach LaVine
The Chicago Bulls likely won’t move on from Zach LaVine this offseason due to their belief of the LaVine/Nikola Vucevic duo being a solid foundation for the roster. That being said, if LaVine were made available or if he decides he’d be better elsewhere, Michael Jordan could do business with his former team. Jordan would love to be able to bring in a talent like LaVine to a small-market team like the Charlotte Hornets.
The Hornets need to allow LaMelo Ball to take the reins at point guard, making Terry Rozier expendable for Charlotte. LaVine could create an exciting back court in Charlotte with Ball, given his ability to excel in off-ball situations when needed.

We also saw flashes of potential from Miles Bridges and P.J. Washington this season, giving the Hornets a solid foundation for the future. When LaVine is inevitably traded, he’ll likely prefer a big-market team that can compete for a title. That shouldn’t prevent the Hornets from making an offer for the first-time All-Star.
