Detroit Pistons: Karl-Anthony Towns
When it was announced that the Pistons were getting the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, it became apparent where Cunningham was going to land. Despite Detroit saying they won’t rule out trading the pick, in all likeliness, they’re going to stay put and select a hopeful franchise cornerstone piece in Cunningham. But what if the team could acquire an All-Star caliber player that could help them immediately?
Ever since trading Andre Drummond, the Pistons have been searching for someone to replace him at the center position. To give them more shooting and spacing at the position, Detroit would love to have an opportunity to get Karl-Anthony Towns.
Towns is arguably the greatest shooting big man in NBA history and he’s still only 25 years old, meaning there is room for improvement. It would take more than the first overall pick to land Towns, but a player like Towns would definitely make the Pistons consider parting ways with the No. 1 pick.
Houston Rockets: Bradley Beal
It is unknown what the plan is for the Houston Rockets moving forward. They have Christian Wood, Kenyon Martin Jr., Kevin Porter Jr., and Jae’Sean Tate to build around. But what does the team do with John Wall?
Let’s have fun and say Wall remains in Houston, and the Rockets are able to make an offer to the Washington Wizards for Bradley Beal. Since we’re talking about ideal trade targets, Houston should be swinging for the fences if they offer up the No. 2 overall selection.
Beal would reunite with Wall, who he spent eight seasons with before Wall was traded to the Rockets in exchange for Russell Westbrook.

There’s no reason to believe that Beal would be content with being traded to Houston, and the Rockets likely won’t have any offers that make them move out of the lottery. However, it would be cool to see Beal and Wall get another opportunity to do damage on the same team again.
