The Orlando Magic made back-to-back playoff appearances the last two NBA seasons, but this year, they seemed to take another step back as an organization and enter yet another rebuilding process. This front-office just did not see things trending in a positive direction, so they moved on from Nikola Vucevic, Evan Fournier and Aaron Gordon at the NBA trade deadline and then they parted ways with Steve Clifford after just three seasons.

Clifford is definitely not to blame for the Magic’s bad fortune over the years, as they have dealt with a lot of injuries and have not had the most talented roster in the league, but this organization is now taking things in a new direction. Future success is what the Magic have planned for themselves and they have a solid group of young players already in hand.

Markelle Fultz played in just 8 games during the 2020-21 season before tearing his ACL in his left and knee and Jonathan Isaac missed the entire season after suffering an ACL tear in the NBA Bubble last season.

Both of them are expected to be ready to go for the start of the 2021-22 season, along with other young talents in Cole Anthony, Chuma Okeke, Mo Bamba and Wendell Carter Jr.

Not to mention, the Magic also own the 5th and 8th picks in the 2021 NBA Draft, giving them an immediate way to add more highly-talented, young talents to their core of the future. The 2021-22 season is going to be yet another “rebuilding season” for Orlando and they could very well end up with the worst record in the league, but their focus is on the draft in July right now.

Ending up with one of the Top-5 talents in this year’s draft with the 5th overall pick is big news for the Magic, but who could they possibly target with this pick? Let’s take a look at the Top-4 options for the Orlando Magic with the 5th pick in this year’s draft.
