The Miami Heat had a disappointing 2020-21 season, getting swept in the first round of the playoffs by the Milwaukee Bucks. After making the NBA Finals in the Orlando Bubble, getting swept in the first round was disheartening.

This offseason will be an important one for Miami as they will look to return to the upper echelon of the Eastern Conference. The team has numerous free agents, as point guards Kendrick Nunn and Goran Dragic and sharpshooter Duncan Robinson will all be courted this offseason.

All three should receive varying degrees of attention in free agency as there are several teams in need of help at the point guard position and everyone can always use a shooter. There will be some shaking up of the roster this season, but it sounds like it will come via trade.

According to Ethan J. Skolnick of 5 Reasons Sports, there is a 75 percent chance that Tyler Herro will be traded away this offseason.

“I have now heard that there is a 75 percent chance or better that he is traded this offseason,” said Ethan Skolnick on Herro. “In fact, when I’ve thrown out 75 percent to several league sources, they’ve told me that’s low.”

This is quite a 180 degree turn for the Miami Heat. During their run in the bubble, Herro quickly became an untouchable player. Some NBA trade rumors leading up to the 2020-21 season included teams inquired about Herro, but Miami turned down all inquiries.

Herro was a knockdown 3-point shooter but also flashed playmaking and the ability to finish around the basket. Unfortunately, he was not able to replicate that performance, culminating in a poor performance against the Bucks.

Pat Riley recently said that Tyler Herro is a part of the team’s core, but some All-Stars could be available on the trade market this offseason. If a player such as Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard becomes available, Herro will undoubtedly be included in those talks.
